On any given Saturday night, you can find Artist A.L.
Stevenson at the Brewery Artist Lofts in Downtown
Los Angeles. Surrounded by fellow artists, live music
and a lot of art, A.L. is living the life of which she has always
dreamt. Over the past three years, A.L. has become
a highly collected artist. Her signature style and art
deco inspired genre have earned her a place in today’s
competitive art market.
Back at her Hollywood studio, sunshine pierces
through the window and a fresh canvas awaits a new
story. She muses over what will come ... a story of
unrequited love, a martini filled celebration, or urbanites
lounging in exotic locales. A.L. picks up a brush and
begins with the flirtatious eye of a stranger. Stevenson's
paintings demonstrate her principles of art, in which
the graphic elements of line, color planes, and space
are set in motion by an energy from the artist's mind.
After earning a BFA from the University of
Nebraska, A.L. moved to Minneapolis where she worked as an artist for almost ten years. As her
life broadened, the world in her paintings grew bigger
and bolder. Needing to experience more, she packed
her bags and moved to the West Coast.
In 2004, A.L. moved to Los Angeles. With one exhibit
after another, art critics hailed her as “one to watch”.
She was commissioned to do a series of paintings for
the New Otani Hotel in Los Angeles. Her
artwork has been prominently featured on television,
including the FOX hit, “Hell’s Kitchen”.
Today her exposure reaches worldwide, in galleries
and collections, both public and private.
