Where were you born and where did you grow up?
I was born in San Francisco. My family moved around a lot. I grew up in Seattle, WA; St. Louis, MO; Lake Tahoe, CA; as well as Marin County outside San Francisco and finally, Southern California.
What was the first thing you remember painting?
A house when I was in kindergarten.
What painting were you creating when you realized this was your passion?
I have no clue. I have always painted. It has always been part of my life. I do not believe there was one painting, I just always knew.
What brings you the most inspiration?
I am inspired by beautiful things. I try to surround myself daily with beauty.
What three things do you need when you sit down to paint?
1) Inspiration, 2) Enthusiasm, and 3) Quality supplies.
Where is your favorite place to travel?
It depends on what I want to experience – the middle of New York City or the heart of a giant redwood forest.
What would you be doing if you were not an artist?
I would probably be an art buyer, a museum curator, or a farmer.
